Proven Leadership Propels Airport Development

The Ak-Chin Indian Community is governed by a five member Community Council which oversees the governmental operations and departments that service the Community of Ak-Chin. The Council consists of a Chairman, a Vice-Chairman, and three Council Members – all of whom are elected democratically by the full Community in November elections. All Council Members serve in 4 year terms with an 8-year term limit. Under their leadership, the Council provides direction and approves recommendations similarly to any municipality’s City Council. The Ak-Chin Community Council continues to prove its commitment to long-term growth and economic diversification in the Community and the surrounding region.

AK-CHIN INDUSTRIAL PARK BOARD HELPS TENANTS NAVIGATE THE LOCATION PROCESS

The Ak-Chin Industrial Park Board was formally established by the Ak-Chin Community Council to develop, operate and manage the Community’s industrial properties. It is responsible for the marketing, development and management of the property surrounding the Ak-Chin Regional Airport, the adjacent acreage known as the Bunger Property, which includes the Adobe Office Suites, and the Arizona Gold-certified shovel-ready Santa Cruz Commerce Center. The Board acts as a tenant advocate both within and outside the Community to identify opportunities, streamline processes, and accelerate solutions to any issues that might arise.

  • The Ak-Chin Industrial Park Board is committed to being a one-stop resource for tenant needs, which saves both time and money for potential tenants seeking space in existing buildings or future development on the surrounding Airport property.

  • To simplify matters for tenants, the Board works with Community departments and outside entities to facilitate the processes for planning and zoning, architecture and construction, and building permitting and signage within the Community on behalf of the tenant.

  • All negotiations and approvals are handled in-house.

With the input of many insightful Community leaders, talented staff members and professional consultants, the Community is working to make the Airport and its adjacent industrial properties an emerging transportation and commerce hub.
